Today we went for a follow up appointment for Caleb's ear...thankfully no damage done - just a good stern warning from the ear doctor to keep everything out of his ears!!

Tuesday started off like any other day. Got up, had breakfast, dropped Esther off at the bus stop and went home.
Our plan was to go to Costco for a few items just after lunch.
No problem.
*
Until I heard the "Moooommmmm" from Caleb.
*
I knew that there was something wrong because of the tone of voice that Caleb called me with.
"There's something stuck in my ear".
"What is it Caleb?"
"A cell phone."
"A what?!?!"
"I stuck a cell phone in my ear."
"Uh oh."
So, I got the flash light out to see how far down it was - I took one attempt at using the tweezers to get it out - but, worried that I would cause more damage stopped after that. One of our friends stopped by with an angled pair of tweezers - but I didn't dare try it as it was definitely in his ear canal very deep.
So, I called the doctor - we went in that afternoon and he took one look at it and said Caleb would need to go to a specialist to get it out as it was too far in the canal.
An appointment was made for the next morning to visit an ear specialist who was thankfully able to get it out with a special pair of tweezers (after much crying and screaming from Caleb - quite a painful experience).
Then we had to make another appointment to get Caleb's hearing checked to make sure there wasn't any damage done - so, we went back again that afternoon and had the tests done. The assistant said there didn't seem to be any damage, thankfully! But, we would have to come back AGAIN for a follow up appointment (which will be this coming Monday).
So - 3 appointments later (and one to go), Caleb seems to be in the clear of any long term damage done by the phone.
Amazing how one little tiny thing can cause so much trouble!!!!
The playmobile cellphone Caleb put in his ear.
Just to give you an idea of how small this thing is...
Maybe playmobile should be ages 6 and up ;)
