Alvar and I finally found something to put up over the mantle, who knew it would take over a year to get some sort of artwork (photograph in our case) up there! I'm glad it's done now (thanks Alvar!), I feel that our house is slowly becoming "finished"!
I'm thinking of painting the mantle now though...what do you think? A nice brown shade (with red/orange tones to match the picture frame)....would that make the mantle "pop-out" a bit more?

Nice! I like the white mantle...but I'd have to see it in relation to the rest of the room before I say for sure.
