Snow (ice) Day

Today's picture of the day is the fruits of the kids painting labour!

We had another snow day today.  I think it might of been in anticipation of some lousy weather (freezing rain etc.) - but instead, it wasn't all that bad.  I'm not complaining though as we enjoyed a lazy day - playing in the bathtub (not me, just the kids!), painting and playing with playmobil (yes, I played with the playmobil too - I was the ice cream lady...not exactly my favourite thing to "play", but the kids begged...so I finallyy agreed much to their excitement!).  Overall a lovely relaxing day!

Yesterday

Yesterday I was just starting supper and the kids were happily watching tv downstairs.  Then the power cut out.  Always perfect timing eh!!  It was getting dark quickly so Alvar got out the flashlights and candles so we could avoid bumping into walls and stepping on toys!  Esther took advantage of the situation and read Caleb and Anna a story by flashlight while we waited for the lights to go back on (and hour later).

Copy Cat

I was poking around a photo-blog the other day and they had just finished their "365 blog" - that's one picture a day.  I thought it was a neat idea - focusing on the small stuff each day, it's a great way to appreciate the little things in life!

And now, after reading a couple blogs from my friends, I found out I'm not the only one!!  I'm going to copy them as they are also posting a photo a day (or every other day, or once a week...depending on how busy life gets!).  So, we'll see how committed I am - maybe because I know of 3 other people doing it, it might just get me thru the year (and who knows...maybe because I'm doing it now too, the others might be a bit more faithful too)!!  Sometimes it will be just one photo...other days, if I'm more ambitious it might be a series (depending on what I take pictures of that day...).

**Caleb had the following phone conversation with his Grandma today:**

"Hi Grandma, it's Caleb.

 Remember that red firetruck you got me for my birthday a long time ago?  The one that makes sounds and lights up?

 Well, the batteries leaked inside and now it's broken, so no more lights or sounds.

 I was just wondering if you could go and get me another one?  You could probably go to Dollarama or if they don't have it, maybe you could find another store that has one?  Maybe tonight, or tomorrow.  Or Saturday is fine too.  I can come over and pick it up, or you can come here too.
