Irvine River

Saturday we enjoyed a day out in Fergus with Alvar's parents.  Late in the day we went for hike down to the Irvine River.  The kids enjoy rock hopping, tree balancing and even a little cave exploring.  It was a beautiful day for a hike!
Group shot!  Minus the camera holder of course!
Esther was inches away from putting her hand on this spider while climbing a rock...it was almost the size of my palm - glad she missed him!
Lots of caves and climbing areas along the river
And lots of climbing off the beaten path too - kids just thrive with the freedom of exploring!
Small cave the kids climbed in to - didn't last long, I'm pretty sure a spider fell on one of them, causing a bit of panic to get out of there!
Sara enjoying some Daddy/Opa time on her own
It's an Alvar!!
 Giant mushrooms on the path
Sara saw the kids in the cave and wanted to be just like them with a photo shoot!
Sara also refused help (even though we HAD to help her whether she wanted it or not in some parts of the hike).  Here she is walking up all the 59 steps on her own!
