We've recently bought some real pets for the house (no snails, potato bugs or worms)! We snagged a fish tank on freecycle quite some time ago (I'm talking maybe 2 years ago), it came with everything seen in the picture, the castle, shipwreck, plants and stones, filters and heaters! Great Deal! I cleaned it up and we "re-gave" it to Alvar along with a gift card for Big Al's Aquarium for Father's Day a few weeks ago. After getting the tank prepared, Alvar picked up some fish and so far they've all survived ;) The kids are pretty excited (Sara especially) about our newest family members!
