Little Bit of Everything: First Couple Days at Cyprus

I will warn you that MANY pictures from our camping trip will end up on the blog - the scenery was just incredible and the trip overall was fantastic that I want to remember as much as possible about it!

Our trip did not actually being on a good note - we were all packed and ready to go Saturday morning, Alvar pulled the van and trailer around from the drive way to the side of the house and realized that the van's tire was fairly low so he got out his pump and plugged it in and pumped up the tire while the kids waited patiently. After the van tire was pumped up to perfection and we loaded up the kids, including myself - put the key in the ignition to go and got...nothing. Ok, we did get a "click click click click" - but to me that was not the sound we needed to hear in order to get our trip underway! The battery was dead :( So, Alvar went and knocked at a couple of our neighbours to find someone with cables and a car to boost us with! Thankfully we were able to get the help we needed and were waved off by the neighbourhood in the end (knowing that our house would be doubly looked after now that everyone knew we were leaving for camping!). So, off we went. The rest of the trip to camp was fairly uneventful - no more boosts needed...just some pumping for the tire at every stop - but we made it safely in the end!

I think they enjoyed it - maybe getting a little bored by the end - but at least they were comfortable in the canoe!

This is the Indian Cove - if you took away the pine trees and added some sand you'd think this was a resort somewhere on the ocean! Tons of people there enjoying the beautiful scenery and the waters of the Georgian Bay. Not quite as warm as some tropical place, but I'm pretty sure that it was quite warm even for Georgian Bay. The water takes on a tropical colour too which just adds to the scenery all around!

Another cliff view...you'll notice Mom's hand on Caleb's back - it was quite the drop and we were very cautious with the kids the entire walk - so many areas to fall - thankfully we all came out safe and sound!

View of the Grotto. Apparently if you're a good swimmer you can go thru the cave to the other side (coming out on the Indian Cove side) - we didn't make it down (just to look, not swim) - we ran out of time - guess we'll just have to come back some time again!!
