Today we had a parking lot community picnic with our church. The weather held out (it actually became warmer as the evening went on) and we had a great time socializing with friends (and it was especially a blessing to see a few unfamiliar faces from the community!).
The hi-lite of the bbq was the much anticipated cub car races. The Cadets generally head this up, and this year they invited the GEMS to participate too! Esther was very excited :)

Oh...and did I mention they had face painting at the bbq as well? Most kids got some pretty elaborate pictures painted on their faces - Sara - well, she was very proud of her fish :) She would walk up to people with her head tilted sideways to show off her face!
